I enjoyed attending this years AAT Annual Conference in Birmingham on 15th/16th May. It give me a chance to get out of the office and catch up on all that's new in the accounting and HMRC world.
This year I brought myself up to date on the current accounting reporting standards changes that are coming for SMEs, as well as the ongoing pension auto enrolment which everyone will have to comply with very soon, possible payroll changes under the new government and employment law issues.
